Why an EWP harness matters
Elevated work platforms move, jolt and stop suddenly, and boom-type machines can catapult an operator clean out of the basket. An EWP harness worn with a short lanyard, connected to the platform's designated anchor point, keeps the operator inside the basket so that fall never starts. In Australia, wearing a harness in boom-type EWPs is standard required practice. For scissor lifts, requirements depend on the machine and the site, so check your risk assessment and site rules.

How to choose the right EWP harness for you
- Harness plus lanyard. Buy them as a pair. A short restraint-style lanyard suited to the basket anchor is the standard boom lift setup.
- Keep the lanyard short. The goal is restraint, staying in the basket, so the lanyard should not let the operator reach a fall. Match the length to the machine.
- Comfort for the shift. EWP operators wear the harness for hours. Padding, adjustment and fit decide whether it gets worn properly.
- Check the machine's requirements. The EWP's manual and your site rules set the specifics, especially for scissor lifts. Ask us if unsure.
