Why height safety matters in construction
Falls from height are one of the biggest causes of serious injury in construction.
Work on scaffolds, edges, steel and structures all carry fall risk, and that risk has to be managed with the right equipment. A complete setup covers prevention and restraint to keep workers away from the edge, fall arrest to catch a fall, and rescue to retrieve a worker if one happens. Getting this right protects your people and meets your safety obligations.
Start with the task and the site, then build the system to suit.
How our construction safety gear is different
We are an independent height safety specialist, so we choose gear for real construction work, from brands we trust, not whatever one supplier pushes.
Everything is built to meet the relevant Australian Standards, and because we work at height ourselves, we can help you cover the whole picture: harnesses, anchors, lanyards, fall arrest and rescue for your site.
How to choose the right construction safety gear for you
- Assess the risk. Where is the fall risk, and how do workers move around it? The task drives the gear.
- Prevention first. Where you can, restrain workers from reaching the edge. Use fall arrest where a fall is possible.
- Anchors. A harness needs a compliant anchor. Plan anchor points for the structure.
- Plan for rescue. If a fall can happen, you need a way to retrieve the worker. Include rescue in your setup.
FAQs about Construction Safety Equipment
What height safety gear does a construction site need?
Typically harnesses, lanyards, compliant anchors, fall arrest or restraint equipment, and a rescue plan with the gear to carry it out. The exact setup depends on the work.
Is fall protection a legal requirement on construction sites?
Fall protection is required where there is a risk of falling from height. Check your obligations and set up gear that meets the relevant standards.
What is the difference between restraint and fall arrest?
Restraint keeps a worker back from the edge so they cannot fall. Fall arrest catches a worker if a fall happens. Many sites use both.
Do you supply gear for whole crews?
Yes. Tell us your site and crew and we will help you kit out your team with compliant height safety gear.
Can you help me work out what I need?
Yes. Tell us the work and the site conditions and we will help you build the right system, from prevention to rescue.
