How to Choose the Right Inertia Reel

Start with the way the worker will be using it.

You need to know where it will be anchored, how much clearance is available below the user, whether it is being used overhead or in another position, and whether the system is for fall arrest or fall restraint. Horizontal use, low-clearance work and anchor position can all change what is suitable.

The reel also has to match the rest of the setup. Harness connection point, anchor arrangement, movement path and the way the worker travels through the area all need to be considered together. If the reel does not suit the actual work method, it is the wrong setup.
