The EDELRID FUSE and Rescue Defuser back up device is an innovative mobile fall arrester that uses a smooth wheel rather than a toothed one to activate the arresting function. Removing the teeth decreases the wear and tear on the rope but does not impede function. The EDELRID FUSE and Rescue Defuser has an integrated centrifugal brake and cam locking function which ensures smooth progress up or down the belay rope and can be parked as needed to prevent wind from pulling rope through on windy days. The device can be removed from the rope with out the need to remove the carabiner eliminating the possibility of dropping while working at heights performing rope to rope transfers. The Edelrid Fuse back up device is ideal for rope access, rescue technicians or other work where a mobile fall arrestor may be useful.
